Trump eyes crypto exchange and metaverse expansion with new trademark filing

On Feb. 24, DTTM Operations LLC, the entity managing Trump’s trademarks, filed a new trademark application for “TRUMP” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The application suggests plans for a Trump -branded virtual world where users can engage in a range of digital experiences.

According to the trademark filing , users in this virtual world would be able to purchase TRUMP-branded clothing, shoes, and accessories for their digital avatars.

The experience wouldn’t stop at fashion — there would also be a TRUMP-branded restaurant offering a virtual dining experience.

Beyond entertainment, the digital ecosystem aims to include education and professional training services in areas such as public service, business, fundraising, real estate, and hospitality.

The most striking detail in the application is a TRUMP-branded digital marketplace, allowing users to buy and sell digital goods and cryptocurrencies.

The marketplace would be restricted to content “authorized by the 45th and 47th President of the United States of America” and authenticated using non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Trump expands into the metaverse

While it is unclear when or how these digital projects will be launched, the trademark filing signals an intent to capitalize on the growing metaverse and blockchain-based economies.

The application itself does not guarantee that the Trump Organization will move forward with these projects. However, it suggests that the former President and his business empire are exploring ways to stay relevant in the digital economy.
