President
Donald Trump
vowed to make the United States of America the "
Bitcoin
superpower." The "good old America" is going to become the crypto capital of the world.
Speaking at the Digital Asset Summit in New York on March 20, Trump took aim at the previous administration, promising to end what he called the “regulatory war on crypto” and stop the government’s “lawless” crackdown on the industry.
"We’re ending the last administration’s regulatory war on crypto and Bitcoin, and that includes stopping the lawless Operation Choke Point 2.0," Trump said. "Operation Choke Point went beyond regulation—it was a form of lawfare through government weaponization. Frankly, it was a disgrace. But as of January 20, 2025, all of that is over."
Trump noted that his administration had already taken historic steps, including the first-ever White House Digital Asset Summit and the creation of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve to prevent the government from selling its Bitcoin holdings at “a fraction” of their long-term value.
"That same week, I
signed an order
creating the brand-new Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and the U.S. Digital Asset Stockpile, which will allow the federal government to maximize the value of its holdings instead of foolishly selling them for a fraction of their long-term value, which is exactly what Biden did," Trump said.
Clear rules for innovation and economic growth
The president also called on Congress to pass landmark legislation to set clear rules for
stablecoins
and crypto market structures, arguing that it would unleash innovation and economic growth.
"With the right legal framework, institutions large and small will be liberated to invest, innovate, and take part in one of the most exciting technological revolutions in modern history," he said.
Trump’s pro-crypto stance marks a stark contrast to the regulatory uncertainty of past years, positioning his administration as the most Bitcoin-friendly in U.S. history.
"Together, we will make America the undisputed Bitcoin superpower and the crypto capital of the world," Trump declared. "And it’s going to be right here in the USA, the good old USA."
