Zero crypto tax rumors swirl ahead of Trump's talks

Rumors are circulating on social media that President Donald Trump may propose a 0% capital gains tax on Bitcoin and other crypto investments. The speculation—spreading rapidly on X (formerly Twitter)—suggests the administration aims to attract more capital to the U.S. by exempting crypto profits from taxation.

Prominent crypto figures like Ash Crypto, Lark Davis, and Quinten Francois have joined the conversation. While some users are excited about the possibility of tax-free gains, others joke that the policy would be meaningless given the recent crypto market downturn.

Quinten Francois who goes by the name Quinten|04.eth said on X , “Entire feed is cheering on rumors that Trump will announce 0% tax on crypto profits. But what if you don’t have profits?”

Lark Davis took to X posting, “1 hour until the Trump speech. Rumors are floating that Trump could remove capital gains tax on Bitcoin and crypto. That's a joke because no one is going to have any gains left”

The rumored tax policy change has yet to be confirmed by the White House or financial regulators. However, President Trump who has a history of signaling a pro-business stance on digital assets, has not officially made any statements.
