Trump's son to advise Japan’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin

Eric Trump, the second son of the US President Donald Trump, has joined the Strategic Board of Advisors at Metaplanet, the company’s CEO Simon Gerovich announced on X (formerly Twitter) on March 21.

Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Metaplanet is Japan’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin and the world’s 10th largest corporate holder of Bitcoin.

Since its first Bitcoin purchase in April 2024, the company has come a long way and now holds 3,200 BTC. Among Japanese corporate holders of Bitcoin, the company is far ahead of NEXON Co. with 1,717 Bitcoin and Remixpoint with 616 Bitcoin.

Metaplanet aims to accumulate at least 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025.

Gerovich said that Eric’s “business expertise and passion for BTC will help drive our mission forward as we continue building one of the world’s leading Bitcoin Treasury Companies.”

Eric has been extremely bullish on Bitcoin and predicted that it would eventually hit $1 million per coin.

"I believe in Bitcoin. I absolutely love Bitcoin, and I'm very proud that my father stood on stage in Nashville and said that he's going to be the Bitcoin president," Eric said at a conference in Abu Dhabi on Dec. 10, 2024.

Eric, along with his brothers Donald Jr. and Barron, acts as a Web3 ambassador at World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture. President Trump acts as the chief crypto advocate at the organization.

World Liberty Financial was co-founded by Trump’s Middle East envoy and old friend Steve Witkoff and his sons Zach and Alex in September 2024.
