Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods&Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.18%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA), which rose 3.73% or 0.44 points to trade at 12.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) added 2.84% or 7.16 points to end at 258.72 and Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX) was up 2.28% or 1.43 points to 64.09 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC), which fell 3.23% or 5.99 points to trade at 178.56 at the close. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) declined 2.76% or 1.60 points to end at 56.34 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) was down 2.26% or 3.72 points to 159.82.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 172 to 66 and 10 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.35 to $2,550.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.68% or 1.23 to hit $71.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $76.09 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 19.28, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.01% to 21.50.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 101.04.
