Notcoin Launches Game Based on ‘Lost Dogs’ NFT Collection
Viral Telegram clicker game Notcoin has partnered with The Open Network (TON) NFT project Lost Dogs to launch a story-driven game by the same name.
In the new Lost Dogs Telegram game, players will vote daily on decisions that will shape the six-week-long narrative of Lost Dogs. As the game progresses, the characters based on the Lost Dogs NFT collection will gain special powers and become “celebrities.”
“We want to unveil to you a world full of discoveries, joy, suffering, cliffhangers, and mysteries,” Lost Dogs ‘chief barking officer’ Mad Tail said in a Wednesday announcement.
This is a diversion from the tap-to-earn genre that has popularized Telegram gaming, with the app hitting 950 million users amid the crypto gaming boom. Notcoin and Hamster Kombat have drawn in millions of players who click their screens to earn digital coins.
Fortunately, this mechanic isn’t entirely lost with Lost Dogs, with users able to earn Notcoins and a new in-game token called WOOF. This is done by interacting with squads, inviting new players, and developing “strategies.”
"Lost Dogs is not an ordinary game, better to call it a gamified experience,” Sasha Plotvinov, Founder of Open Builders and Notcoin, said in a release. “Every day, you will be asked to make a decision that will shape the story that is happening in this magical dogs’ world. The more good decisions you make, the better for your pack (and your drop).”
This comes over a month after the tap-to-earn game, Notcoin , teased a “fresh start” accompanied by Lost Dogs artwork. In turn, many fans speculated in what form a collaboration with the NFT project would materialize.
Earlier this year, Plotvinov told Decrypt that the project is aiming to “become the Netflix of social, viral games.” This move to launch a collaborative game with Lost Dogs may be seen as the first step in this movement.
The pseudonymous founder of the TON NFT trading platform Getgems, on which Lost Dogs was originally launched, expressed her joy at seeing the project flourish.
"This is just the first of many games to be promoted by Notcoin, setting the stage for a new era of interactive blockchain experiences,” Getgems founder Vanya added.
